Gambling, casinos and Elvis are the first words that spring to mind when "Las Vegas" enters a conversation; at least in the minds of the people who have never before visited this great city. If only they knew, this is not all that Las Vegas has to offer its visitors.
All in all, Vegas provides a whole bunch of thrilling and superb activities to partake in, that do not involve you spending your hard earned money away on games of chance.
The Bellagio Fountains will easily be one of the most beautiful things you see in Vegas and the great news is that they are FREE! They can be seen in front of one of the city's major casinos, with shows going off at least every 15 minutes.
Ahoy me hearties! Though the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island (TI) isn't your traditional pirate show, it is crammed full of entertainment and "bare" comedy. Although it used to be predominantly a family show, it has now taken more of an adult nature, with scantily clad sirens in an assortment of outfits and pirates with not many clothes on, doing choreographed dancing to loud, pumping music. An added bonus is that it is also free.
For your golfing pleasure, Las Vegas offers 50 golf courses within the city and outlying areas. Hit a hole in one or just play for fun. It's a fabulous way to spend a day outside and improve on your suntan!
Shopaholics prepare yourself for the shopping experience of your life. Forget about New York, Vegas offers everything the Big Apple does, at a much cheaper price. Miracle Mile Shops are located right on The Strip so you can't miss them; and why would you want to?
Do you like a traditional zoo? If so, you're in for a treat, the Animal Park at the Mirage Hotel will be better than any you have ever visited before. Take a stroll through at any time of the day and you will discover some fascinating species of exotic animals, including the albino tiger. Careful not to put your hands in the cages though; they WILL bite!
It is definately worth raiding your savings (or use the money you have saved from not gambling) and purchase a ticket to the Cirque du Soleil. These will be the 5 most thrilling hours spent, filled with exciting stunts and jumps, performed by Olympic gymnasts, who place their lives at risk in order to entertain you. Death defying acts, glittering costumes and attempts at the impossible are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
If all else fails, get married!
Las Vegas is the foremost location in the world to elope to, so why not add to this statistic and tie the knot in a novel, but officially authorized wedding chapel?
